Nancy has been a Certified Financial Planner® professional since 2001. She has also earned the designations of Retirement Management Advisor®, Retirement Income Certified Professional®, Chartered Life Underwriter®, Chartered Financial Consultant® and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Government from Wheaton College in Massachusetts, and before deciding to make a career change in 1989 was working towards an MSW at the University of Connecticut.
On her own, Nancy built a successful financial planning practice focused on the financial needs of women experiencing financial life transitions due to divorce or being widowed, and couples planning their transition to retirement. Wanting to provide her clients with more proactive tax management and asset-liability matching investment strategies to secure future income, she merged her practice with Sensible Money.
Outside of work, Nancy is an active volunteer within her community, and she especially enjoys opportunities to mentor other women in their financial and life skills. She also plays a mean game of Scrabble, likes to watch thought-provoking documentaries and appreciates clever comedy in all forms. She and her husband Leif also always look forward to visits with their son Jim, who lives and works in the Washington, DC area.
